Life is Beautiful Festival Recap and Photo Diary
Last weekend, a couple members of the LSTN team headed to Las Vegas to soak up the sights and sounds of Life is Beautiful Festival! We took to the streets of Downtown Las Vegas to explore the extensive array of street art, sculptures, lectures, and musical acts. In true Vegas fashion, it was a whirlwind adventure for the books.
The artists featured at Life is Beautiful took graffiti-style street art to the next level. Sprawling murals featuring colorful psychedelic patterns brought life to the otherwise drab and dreary streets of DTLV. Three-dimensional sculptures created constant visual stimulation for festival-goers. The stunning work by this talented group of artists was the certainly the highlight of the weekend.
The Troubadour Stage
How can we not be biased towards this stage? Named after your favorite LSTN Headphones (OK, maybe they just had the venue in mind), the Troubadour stage was a haven for electronic music fans. As festival co-promoters, Insomniac Events brought the ravers to Downtown Las Vegas in masses. Claude VonStroke, The Magician, and What So Not kept us grooving and moving all night.
The Art Motel
Remember the carnival scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Stepping into the Art Motel was like stepping into the famed Hunter S. Thompson's shoes during a psychedelic binge. The Art Motel's talented troupe of traveling artists created an immersive, interactive environment that mimicked a board game. This twisted "Game of Life" threw attendees into a nightmare-like alternate universe where human emotion and experience were presented in an often upfront, transparent fashion. Don’t worry everyone, we made it out alive, feeling refreshed and ready for another round of live music.
Many thanks to Insomniac, Another Planet and Wendoh for a fantastic festival experience.
